Here in Dodge City, KS! I love Kansas. If you talk to my parents (who I call every day) I’m sure they will tell you how I keep talking about how great this state is. In one of the videos I call out all of you folks who warned me against coming here
Also, in one of the videos I say the wrong date, oops.
Colorado in a week… Can’t believe I just typed that. Seems like I was just in Delaware.
Below are the latest videos and lots of new photos are on the Facebook page.
Made it to July, holy crap. Currently in Hutchinson, KS taking a day off. There’s a great cyclist (and now walker) hostel here, loving it. Was 106 degrees yesterday, still managed to do about 22 miles somehow. Was pretty darn hot though.
Quick note: I’ve been getting stopped by police a lot lately, and posting about it. PLEASE do not take that to mean I am anti-cops. In fact, they almost always help me out with some bit of information that ends up making my day a lot easier. There have been a few comments on the Facebook page that have been kind of negative towards the police, no need for that. They are just doing their jobs and have never been anything but kind and helpful to me.
In El Dorado, Kansas! Very nice town, with very nice sidewalks. I comment on the sidewalks because it seems like most towns completely ignore them and let them fall apart and grow over with grass. So kudos to El Dorado, Kansas.
Below are the latest videos and the newest photos are on the Facebook page as always.
In El Dorado Springs, MO just a couple of days of walking away from Kansas. Crazy.
It has been such a great few days since the last update. Met some amazing folks and the land around here is just so beautiful. Had my longest day in terms of mileage yesterday at 28 miles! And it wasn’t even flat (pretty hilly actually), will be interesting to see what I’m capable of when things flatten out a bit.
Below are the latest videos and new photos are on the Facebook page!
Back on the road after an incredible 2 week break out to Portland, OR and back. What a roadtrip…
Currently in Lebanon, MO. I started pushing a cart (Wilson II) and the transition has been incredible. 20+ mile days will be the regular now. I feel GREAT. Big thanks to my buddy Joel Runyon for helping me put the thing together (actually, he did it alone, I was no help).
Below are the latest videos and the newest photos are on the Facebook page.
Thanks for the continued support everyone! You rock.
Here in Salem, MO. I just watched the videos below and realize how depressing they are! It’s been a different week, but still good. A few things happened that got me kind of bummed out, and it’s been a pretty remote stretch of walking which gives me way too much time to think about them. So yeah, I’m doing good though, and not depressed like I sound in these videos haha!
I LOVE this walk, but looking forward to a little change of pace as I head out to the World Domination Summit here in a couple of days. My buddy Joel Runyon and his brother Justin are picking me up here in Missouri and we’re going to be taking a pretty epic roadtrip. I’m pumped.
In other news: I bought an American flag bandana yesterday. It makes me look super homeless (nothing against homeless people), but I like it. I get crazier looking every day.
I’m going to be switching to a push cart soon as well. Wilson II is waiting for me at the Lebanon, MO Walmart. Can’t wait to use it. Will take so much pressure of my back, shoulders, knees and feet. It’s important that I carry more water and food here as the towns are getting further and further apart each day.
Here in Fredericktown, MO! So happy to be in Missouri! Latest videos are below and photos are on the Facebook page.
A couple of important things:
First, my prayers are with the folks around Joplin, MO. I got hit by the tail end of that weather last night, and believe me when I tell you it was crazy. I can’t even imagine what they went through there.
Next, on Monday (a week from today) I’ll be making my way out to Portland, OR for the World Domination Summit. I’ll give more info on just how I’m getting out there in the next couple of days. It’s looking like it will be an epic trip.
I’ve told many of you about this, and I’m so excited about it! It will be a great weekend seeing friends I haven’t seen in a while and making new connections as well. It will be my first little break from the walk! I’m looking forward to a change of pace for a bit, but it doesn’t mean I don’t love being out here doing this
Just a quick note: Those of you who have SO KINDLY donated to my trip, none of that money is going towards this trip to Portland. I’ve known I was going to WDS for at least the last 9 months so I have money set aside for that. Just thought I’d mention that
Also, there’s a special video (the last one) where I talk about a cause I’ve picked up here along the way for my walk.
